1901-O Morgan Silver Dollar — New Orleans, About Uncirculated
Morgan silver dollar dated 1901, struck at the New Orleans Mint (O mintmark above the "DO" of DOLLAR, shown in our close-up photo). Mintage 4,560,000. George T. Morgan's Liberty wears a cap banded LIBERTY with cotton and wheat; the reverse eagle holds arrows and an olive branch within a wreath. This example grades About Uncirculated — crisp hair detail and near-full mint lustre with only light friction and scattered contact marks, plus the softly struck eagle's breast that is normal for New Orleans issues. One small dark spot by the left wreath, as photographed. Struck in 90% silver (26.73 g, 38.1 mm) and housed in a protective 2x2 holder. A handsome turn-of-the-century dollar from the South's historic mint.
Opis PL:
Srebrny dolar Morgana z 1901 roku, wybity w mennicy w Nowym Orleanie (znak mennicy „O” nad literami „DO” w słowie DOLLAR — widoczny na naszym zdjęciu makro). Nakład 4 560 000 sztuk. Liberty projektu George'a T. Morgana nosi czapkę z opaską LIBERTY, z bawełną i pszenicą; na rewersie orzeł trzyma strzały i gałązkę oliwną w wieńcu. Srebro próby .900 (26,73 g, 38,1 mm), w ochronnym holderze 2x2. Efektowny dolar z przełomu wieków z historycznej mennicy Południa
