Antique Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon — Independence Hall, Philadelphia, Enamel Handle, c. 1900
Antique American souvenir spoon in sterling silver, dating to the height of the souvenir spoon craze, c. 1900–1915. The bowl is hand-engraved — not stamped — with Independence Hall in Philadelphia, its clock tower flying the American flag, with the caption lettered around the rim. The shaped handle carries a cream enamel panel painted with pink flowers, and the enamel survives intact, without chips — the detail that is usually damaged on spoons of this age and the first thing collectors look for. Marked STERLING on the back of the stem. Deep, natural patina throughout, left exactly as found — we have deliberately not polished it. A lovely piece of early Americana.
Opis PL:
