Canada 1900 — 25 Cents Shinplaster, Dominion Note
A turn-of-the-century "shinplaster" — Dominion of Canada 25-cent fractional note dated January 2nd, 1900 (Charlton DC-16), printed by the American Bank Note Company, Ottawa. Seated Britannia raises her trident at right, her Union Jack shield at her side, with "AUTHORIZED BY R.S.C. CAP. 31" above and the single signature of J.C. Boville, Deputy Minister of Finance — the 1900 issue carries no serial number, as was standard for these little notes. Canada struck paper quarters because silver small change kept vanishing south of the border, and these fragile notes were spent hard and redeemed by the million. Honestly circulated — folds, creases and overall soiling, complete with no tears (please judge the grade from the photos). A 125-year-old survivor and the natural partner to the 1923 shinplaster in our listings.
PL:
„Shinplaster" z przełomu wieków — banknot ułamkowy Dominium Kanady o nominale 25 centów, datowany 2 stycznia 1900 r. (Charlton DC-16), drukowany przez American Bank Note Company w Ottawie. Siedząca Britannia unosi trójząb po prawej stronie, obok niej tarcza z Union Jackiem, powyżej „AUTHORIZED BY R.S.C. CAP. 31", a jedyny podpis to J.C. Uczciwie obiegowy — zagięcia, zmarszczenia i ogólne przybrudzenie, kompletny, bez rozdarć (stan proszę ocenić ze zdjęć). 125-letni ocalały — naturalny partner shinplastera z 1923 roku z naszych ofert
