Canada 1923 — 25 Cents Shinplaster, Dominion Note

Canada's famous "shinplaster" — a Dominion of Canada 25-cent fractional note dated Ottawa, July 2nd, 1923 (Charlton DC-24). These paper quarters were first issued in 1870 when small coins ran short, and 1923 was the very last shinplaster issue. Britannia with her trident and shield stands at the centre, with the Department of Finance seal at right. Signatures: C.E. Campbell (Comptroller of Currency) and W.C. Clark (for the Minister of Finance); serial 695407, prefix M. Honestly circulated — folds, even soiling and softened corners, exactly as a working 1923 note should survive (please judge the grade from the photos) — complete, no tears, and over a century old.
