Germany 1974-D — 5 Mark Immanuel Kant, Silver

$38.00

West German commemorative 5 Mark struck for the 250th anniversary of the birth of Immanuel Kant (1724–1804), the great philosopher of Königsberg. Mint mark D — Munich. KM# 138. Silver .625 fine, 11.2 g, 29 mm. The reverse carries a finely engraved portrait of Kant with his dates and a facsimile of his signature — one of the most elegant designs in the whole FRG commemorative series; the obverse shows the federal eagle. Bright, sharp example with full detail and only light toning spots (please see the photos). Silver melt alone is about $18 CAD at today's prices, so this is history you can hold at close to metal value — a cornerstone piece for any German commemorative collection.
