Greece 1912 — 5, 10 & 20 Lepta Set, Holed Nickel Coins, Kingdom of Greece

$47.00

Complete three-coin set of the 1912 holed lepta series of the Kingdom of Greece: 5, 10 and 20 lepta, struck for King George I at the Paris Mint and engraved by Charles Pillet (his signature CH. PILLET appears on the coins). Nickel, each with a centre hole — the first holed coins of Greece, and a single-year issue (1912 only), released on the eve of the Balkan Wars. One side shows the crowned coat of arms with ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ (Kingdom of Greece) and the date 1912; the other side carries the denomination with the owl of Athena standing on an amphora (5 and 10 lepta) and Athena herself with an olive branch (20 lepta). KM#62–64. Circulated condition with honest wear and attractive toning, as shown in the photos. A charming, complete denomination set — Greek holed coins are always popular with collectors.
